Every Reserve camp is a carefully curated retreat in an extraordinary natural or cultural setting, combining refined design, discreet service, and a deep sense of place.

Reserve properties are distinguished by a number of defining characteristics:

Accessibility: No further than one hour’s drive from a regional airport, making them convenient for international travelers who seek ease of arrival.

Scale: Featuring 20–24 spacious keys, designed to balance intimacy with a full resort-style experience.

Wellness: Each Reserve includes a spa and wellness facilities, together with generous pools and curated culinary experiences.

Programming: A broad mix of cultural and nature-based activities, designed for both relaxation and enrichment.

In contrast, our sister brand Visama Explorer is designed for more remote destinations, up to two hours from a regional airport, where the focus is on celebrating unexplored natural beauty. Explorer camps are smaller in scale, with fewer keys, and feature an expanded excursion program catering to all levels of adventure and cultural discovery.

VHG Asia’s first Visama Reserve development, Visama Mae Chan in northern Thailand, set the benchmark for our vision. The property has since been taken over by its owners and is now managed by Dusit International as Tantawan Tented Camp (Travel Daily Media article). This transition to a leading global hospitality brand highlights the enduring quality of our concept.
